Can we stop autoplaying audio files on the mobile app?

Every time I click on a sound file in the app it instantly auto plays instead of waiting for me to press play. This is a nightmare, especially when it picks up where I previously left off (which would be nice for it to do if I indeed had control over *when* it played but ruins what I am trying to do much of the time). This renders the app almost useless to me. You can still leave autoplay as the default while giving users the option to opt out in the settings—this would seem a very basic option, and from what I’ve read online, many would be grateful.
